Coly soil series
Fine-silty, mixed, superactive, calcareous, mesic Typic Ustorthents
Entisols — young soils with little or no horizon development
Coly is mapped on 1.97 million acres in 3 states, 36th nationally by area. In Nebraska only two series cover more ground. Its larger relative Cabba is the one other atlas series in Typic Ustorthents; Coly is fine-silty rather than loamy, very deep rather than shallow, and mesic rather than frigid. Besides it, only Cabba and Cabbart belong to the great group Ustorthents in this atlas.
