Aridisols — soils of dry climates

Nationally Mivida is a small series: 63,809 acres, 4,940th of 24,791 by area. It was established in 1980, later than all but two of the series here. Besides it, only Weikert has moderately rapid water movement in this atlas. Its larger relative Reagan is the one other atlas series in Ustic Haplocalcids; Mivida is coarse-loamy rather than fine-silty and mesic rather than thermic. It is the state soil of Utah.
